Joe Frazier was the heavyweight boxing champion who in 1971 became the first fighter to defeat Muhammad Ali. Frazier's major staggering of Ali in the 11th round and his knock-down of Ali in the 15th round result in a win decision to Frazier in defending his heavyweight belt. Each fighter were guaranteed $2.5 million in a prebout publicy named "Fight of the Century". Ali, then 31-0, was handed his first loss.
